Antarctic soil food webs are majorly contributed by microbial communities which are governed by environmental factors that determine their capacity for biogeochemical cycling. Soil nutrient mobilization in Antarctic dry valleys due to melting of glacial and buried has a severe impact on these microbial communities, which remain poorly understood. To gain mechanistic insights, simulated microcosms were constructed with the addition of water, carbon (C), and nitrogen (N) in Antarctic oligotrophic soils.
