Bird-shaped whistle from 15th c.
This hollow figure of a bird has a mouth piece in its front, indicating that it was a type of whistle. Partially filled with water and blown into, the whistle would warble like a songbird, hence the whistle's shape. The original object was recently discovered in an archaeological dig around the childhood home of Martin Luther (1483–1546). Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
