资源简介:

This repository contains the replication data, Stata do-files, and analysis code supporting the manuscript "Impacts of Civil War on Household Entitlements" (Arya, Ihle and Heijman, forthcoming), which applies Amartya Sen's entitlement framework to assess the effects of conflict escalation on household welfare in Eastern Afghanistan. The analysis draws on household survey data collected by FAO in Rodat (conflict-affected) and Dara-e-Noor (comparatively peaceful) districts of Nangarhar province in 2014 and 2018, and estimates a difference-in-differences (DiD) model on a composite Household Entitlement Index (HEI) and its four constituent entitlement sets: production, trade, labour and transfer entitlements. The HEI is constructed using a two-stage principal component analysis (PCA) and normalised via min-max scaling. Files include the household-level analytic dataset (de-identified/aggregated as required), Stata do-files reproducing the PCA-based index construction, the DiD regression estimates in Table 3, and all robustness checks reported in Section 8 (fractional response model, equal-weighting alternative, wild cluster bootstrap, and simple difference-in-differences on normalised HEI means). A data dictionary (README) is included describing variable names, coding, units and sample restrictions.
