Uganda (2008): TRaC Study to Understand Abstinence among Young People in Uganda. Round One.

To enable PSI to identify key drivers / inhibitors of abstinence, PSI Uganda conducted a baseline survey among young people aged 15-24 aimed at identifying significant associations between abstinence and related perceptions categorized in terms opportunity, ability and motivation. The study also sought to establish the levels of abstinence and related perceptions of opportunity, ability and motivation. PSI Uganda conducted a cross sectional survey among never married young people aged 15-24. A sample of 1148 was selected using a multistage cluster sampling approach from 74 parishes / EAs. Segmentation analysis results are presented for two age groups 15-19 and 20-24 years. The findings are presented in PSI standard dashboard tables.
