Taking the desert steppe in the western part of the Loess Plateau as the research object, this project attempts to reveal the characteristics of soil organic carbon pool, microbial community and enzyme activities in the desert steppe under the change of precipitation, and elucidates the influence mechanism of precipitation change on the retention and stability of soil organic carbon pool, as well as the composition, diversity and function of microbial community. To provide a scientific basis for scientific assessment of the possible change trajectory and trend of soil carbon pool in desert steppe under the background of global climate change.
