Porewater geochemistry of sediment core M186_82-1

The main goal of RV Meteor expedition M186 was to investigate fluid dynamics on the Azores Plateau, Central North Atlantic Ocean. The work is systematic continuation of multiple expeditions (e.g. M113, M141/1 and M162) in the region in the last decade. The first results of M186 confirm a diverse picture of fluid chemistry that was already known from previous cruises. Fluids dynamics and systematics are diverse here, shown by different trends in major elemental composition in short distance.

RV Meteor号科考航次M186的核心目标，是对北大西洋中部亚速尔高原（Azores Plateau）的流体动力学（fluid dynamics）展开研究。本次科考工作是近十年间该区域内多项科考航次（如M113、M141/1及M162）研究的系统性延续。M186航次的首批研究结果证实，该区域流体化学特征呈现出多样化格局，这与此前科考航次已探明的结论一致。该区域的流体动力学特性与流体系统的系统性特征均具备显著多样性，短距离范围内的主量元素组成便存在不同演化趋势，此现象即可佐证上述观点。
