Meteorite Classification dataset collected by CHINARE in Antarctic （2017-2023年）

A total of 12,665 meteorites (field samples) have been collected by Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition (CHINARE) which had carried out seven meteorite survey programs in the Grove Mountains of Antarctica during 1998 to 2016. In this study, we collected and sorted out 2,960 GRV meteorites classified during 2017 to 2023. The dataset covers a data sheet in XLSX format including the meteorite type and mass, the name of the finder, the location of the meteorite, the level of shock metamorphism, the degree of weathering and the main mineral and chemical compositions. All the meteorite information contained in this dataset can be found in the Meteoritical Bulletin, and all the meteorites are deposited in the deep-space Sample Repository, Polar Research Institute of China. This dataset can provide data support for the study of Antarctic meteorites and promote the development of polar science and planetary science research in China.
