As the AR operational scheme used in this research (increasing NH2Cl and Cl2:N ratio) is typically viewed as ineffective in practice to arrest an active CDWDS nitrification event. The results provided a novel insight into microbial community composition under this operational scheme for drinking water systems that could allow us to better predict how communities assemble in these ecosystems.
