Species distributions (SDMs)

This dataset compiles the results of potential distribution modeling for the three seahorse species found in Brazil (<i>Hippocampus reidi</i>, <i>Hippocampus erectus</i>, and <i>Hippocampus patagonicus</i>). The models were generated using the <b>ENMTML</b> package in R, incorporating multiple machine learning algorithms and ensemble techniques to enhance predictive robustness.The models were calibrated using occurrence records from public databases and scientific literature, combined with marine environmental variables such as sea surface temperature, salinity, and primary productivity. The goal was to identify suitable areas for each species, supporting conservation planning and management efforts.The available files include:<b>Predictive maps</b> of the potential distribution of each species.<b>Raster layers</b> with weighted mean ensemble model outputs.<b>Model performance metrics</b> for evaluation.<b>Script</b> detailing the analytical procedures.This dataset is valuable for researchers studying seahorse ecology and conservation, as well as for environmental managers seeking spatially explicit information on these species.
