RESEARCH BACKGROUND: The Climate Change Adaptation Navigator is a web-based guidance framework produced as part of the VCCCAR research project 'Framing multi-level and multi-actor adaptation responses in the Victorian context' (Framing Adaptation). The project was implemented from September 2010 to March 2012 by a multi-disciplinary team of researchers based at RMIT University, Monash University, and the University of Melbourne in Melbourne (Australia). RESEARCH CONTRIBUTION: Adapting to climate change is a complex task. This web-based application is designed to assist local and state governments as well as regional organisations in the process of adapting to the impacts of climate change. Its flexible, web-based framework allows individuals and organisations to explore and find their way through climate change adaptation. The project explored approaches and methodologies for local and regional climate change adaptation planning in order to develop a decision-making framework to better inform adaptation policy and practice by Victorian authorities at various administrative levels. RESEARCH SIGNIFICANCE: The Climate Change Adaptation Navigator is a world-first online guidance tool for climate change adaptation. The guidance framework has been designed with decision makers at the local, regional and state level in Victoria (Australia) in mind. However, it may also be useful for government organisations in other parts of the world, private sector organisations or interested individuals from various backgrounds. The project was funded by the Victorian Government through the Victorian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation Research (VCCCAR).
(Victorian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation Research, VCCCAR)资助。
