Group 5 Experiment

On Wednesday 18th and Wednesday 25th of October, Group 5 members including myself, Maya Francetic, Jaspinder Chera, and Dena Hosseini, conducted an experiment that measured the insect abundance and diversity between high human traffic areas and low human traffic areas at York University. There were three locations of high human traffic areas; In front of Vari Hall, Between Lumbers and Lassonde, and in front of Stong College. There were three areas of low human traffic; Osgoode Woodlot, Stong Woodlot, and Danby Woodlot. Ten pan traps were placed at each location containing soapy water to trap the insects. After a period of about two hours, the pan traps were collected and the insects were counted and recorded on both days.
