Neo-Babylonian Lexical Networks - the dataset

This repository contains five semantic networks and the data used to create them (neo-babylonian-lexical-networks.zip). The networks show which words typically co-occur in Babylonian legal and administrative texts that were primarily written in the sixth and fifth centuries BCE, although a number of Hellenistic texts are included as well. The interactive networks are available at http://urn.fi/urn:nbn:fi:lb-2025052001. The networks have been created from textual data that was automatically lemmatized and POS-tagged at the Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires (University of Helsinki), funded by the Research Council of Finland (decision numbers 298647, 330727, and 352747). The file anee-lexical-portal-2.0-NB.zip contains the scripts used for making the networks available online. The scripts are written by Sam Hardwick, using a fork of Raphaël Velt's gexf-js with various custom configurations and modifications.
