资源简介:
The Penaeus indicus, Indian white shrimp is native to East and South African Coast, Madagascar, the Gulf, Pakistan, the SouthWest and East Coast of India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Southern China and Northern Australia. Currently, global shrimp production is dominated by a single species, the Penaeus vannamei. There is an urgent need to improve more species through breeding programs and add diversity to the species available for commercial culture. The Indian white shrimp with such wide natural distribution and tolerance to wide range of salinity has great potential for genetic improvement and commercial culture. The genetic improvement programs would greatly benefit from the genomic resources developed on this species. In this line, we have generated complete genome of P. indicus using Pacbio sequel and Arima HiC reads. The full genome would enhance understanding of the genes and genome features of P. indicus.
