Digital Archive from an Archaeological Watching Brief at Grange Farm, Southerton, Newton Poppleford, Devon, August 2023

This collection comprises images, site records, and GIS data from an archaeological watching brief at land north of Grange Farm, Southerton, Newton Poppleford, Devon. This work was undertaken by ISCA Archaeology in August 2023. Two postholes were identified in the west of the site which maybe prehistoric in date. The postholes flanked two gullies which were south to north-west aligned. The more westerly posthole was cut by one of the gullies and contained a broken Mesolithic tool. The eastern posthole contained undiagnostic flint dated broadly to the prehistoric period. Additional Mesolithic flint tools were recovered from the upper fills of the western gully and of a later ditch terminal.
