The present invention provides a soybean GmGRF5-1 protein， which is: 1) a protein consisting of the amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO. 1， or 2) a protein derived from 1) that is obtained by means of substitution， deletion， or addition of one or more amino acids in the amino acid sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO.1 and has equivalent activities. The present invention also provides gene GmGRF5-1 coding said protein having a nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO. 2. Overexpression of the gene can delay plant flowering， promote photosynthesis， and increase plant yield， having potential application value in agricultural production.
