NEUROVASCULAR AND INFLAMMATORY MECHANISMS OF MIGRAINE: CLINICAL FEATURES AND MODERN DIAGNOSTIC APPROACHES
Migraine is one of the most common neurological disorders characterized by recurrent headache attacks and significant impairment of quality of life. Modern studies indicate that neurovascular dysfunction, inflammatory activation, and neurotransmitter imbalance play central roles in migraine pathogenesis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical, inflammatory, and neurovascular characteristics of migraine and determine the significance of laboratory and neurological markers in disease severity. The study included 52 patients with clinically diagnosed migraine who underwent neurological and laboratory evaluation. Elevated inflammatory markers, autonomic dysfunction, and increased attack frequency were significantly associated with severe migraine manifestations. Statistical analysis demonstrated a strong positive correlation between C-reactive protein levels and migraine attack frequency (r = 0.71; p <0.001). The findings confirm the importance of inflammatory and neurovascular mechanisms in migraine progression and emphasize the role of early diagnosis in preventing chronic complications.
