New Zealand Gridded Land Information Dataset (NZGLID)

The New Zealand Gridded Land Information Dataset integrates data from various sources to offer detailed spatial information about the land, soil, terrain, and environment of New Zealand's mainland. The dataset is available at spatial resolutions of 5 km and 1 km (WGS84). The input data were processed to achieve the final resolutions by rasterizing geospatial vector layers and reprojecting and performing bilinear resampling of raster layers.

Variables

The NZGLID comprises a total of 22 variables: land use capability, erosion severity, ph, salinity, cation exchange capacity, soil carbon, phosphate retention, topsoil gravel content, rock outcrops and surface boulders, particle size, potential rooting depth, depth to slowly permeable horizon, soil drainage, permeability profile, flood return interval, soil temperature regime, profile available water, profile readily available water, slope, aspect, land cover, land use.

Using the data

The data is provided in the NetCDF format following the CF Convention. NetCDF files can be opened and manipulated in GIS softwares (e.g., QGIS) or using programing languages (e.g., Python, R).

Categorical data are provided as numerical values. Users should refer to the flag_values and flag_meanings attributes for the correspondence between values and categories.

新西兰网格化土地信息数据集（New Zealand Gridded Land Information Dataset，NZGLID）整合多源数据，可为用户提供新西兰本土土地、土壤、地形与环境的精细化空间信息。该数据集提供5 km与1 km两种空间分辨率（WGS84坐标系）。原始输入数据通过地理空间矢量图层栅格化、栅格图层重投影与双线性重采样等处理流程，得到最终的目标分辨率。

新西兰网格化土地信息数据集共包含22项变量：土地利用适宜性、侵蚀强度、酸碱度（pH）、盐度、阳离子交换量、土壤有机碳、磷酸盐保留能力、表土砾石含量、岩石露头与地表巨砾、颗粒粒径、潜在根深、缓透水层深度、土壤排水性、渗透剖面特征、洪水重现期、土壤温度状况、剖面有效持水量、剖面易有效持水量、坡度、坡向、土地覆被、土地利用。

数据使用说明
本数据集采用遵循CF公约（CF Convention）的网络通用数据格式（NetCDF）存储。NetCDF文件可通过地理信息系统软件（如QGIS）或编程语言（如Python、R）读取与处理。

分类数据以数值形式存储，用户可通过查阅flag_values与flag_meanings属性，获取数值与分类类别间的对应关系。
