The experiemnt was on data collection of black cherry plant in the grassland using Line transect method.It was conductedt at the York university grassland and woodlot and stated at about 3pm on the 22nd of September ,2015. The location of the research site is close to some residential houses . A group of four students, Stanley, sheran , Bryson and Nadura were divided into 2 groups,Stanley and Sheran did experiemnt 2 and 3 using transect measuring tapes while Nadura and Bryson did experiment 1 and 4 using quadrat and transect. the experiment. Experiment 2 was conducted by stanley withe the help of Sheran while experiement 3 was done in the woodlot and was conducted by Sheran assisted by Stanley. Experiment 2 was carried out on the garssland at a temperature of about 22 degree celsius and a particular plant black cherry was the sample . A tansect was placed randomly in one spot in the grassland and a transect measuring tape was place on the a stragit line and the distance between the initail spot and the first visible Black cherry plant in that line was recorded. Theheight, number of leaves ,number of flowers and the crowdedness were recorded. Then the data of the next plant in the line was also recorded. it continued untill the tape got finished at the 33rd sample.A random smaple generator was use to determine where to continue from by taking a random number from one to twenty . It happened that 8 was the number and so eight steps were counted to the left and the the experiment was started over from there. the transect measuring tape was again placed in a a straight line from that spot and the whole process of measuring the distance from the spot, height, crowdedness continued. The entire process was done for 50 samples and the data recorded.

本实验针对草原生境中的黑樱桃植物开展数据采集工作,采用样线法(Line transect method)。实验于2015年9月22日下午3时许,在约克大学(York University)草原与林地区域开展,研究场地邻近若干住宅。本次实验团队共4名学生,分别为Stanley、Sheran、Bryson与Nadura,分为两组开展工作:Stanley与Sheran负责实验2与实验3,使用样线卷尺进行操作;Nadura与Bryson负责实验1与实验4,使用样方(quadrat)与样线开展操作。其中,实验2由Stanley在Sheran协助下完成,实验3则在林地区域开展,由Sheran在Stanley协助下完成。实验2选址于草原区域,当时气温约22摄氏度,采样对象为黑樱桃植物。实验2的具体操作流程为:将样线随机布置于草原某一区域,将样线卷尺沿直线铺设,记录起始点至该样线上第一株可见黑樱桃植株的水平距离,并依次记录该植株的高度、叶片数量、花朵数量以及拥挤程度。随后依次采集该样线上后续每一株植株的对应数据,直至卷尺覆盖至第33个采样样本。为开展后续采样,使用随机数生成器确定新的起始采样点:生成1至20区间内的随机整数,本次生成的随机数为8,因此向左计数8步,从该位置重启实验流程。再次沿直线铺设样线卷尺,重复测量起始点距离、植株高度与拥挤程度的操作流程,直至完成共计50份采样数据的记录。
