In the study "Mangrove freeze resistance and resilience across a tropical-temperate transitional zone", published in Journal of Ecology, we characterized species- and strata-specific mangrove freeze resistance and resilience, including low-temperature thresholds, along Florida's Gulf of Mexico coast, aiming at addressing the following research questions: (1) What are the species-specific low-temperature thresholds for mangrove freeze resistance and resilience? (2) How does mangrove freeze resistance and resilience vary by temperature, species, and strata? (3) How will the warming climate affect mangrove poleward expansion in the future? This dataset contains the tagged trees and plot-based mangrove freeze response as the input for this study. The methodology used was described in detail within the aforementioned research article.
