No-moving parts anemometer design analysis program

The Equipment Development Laboratory recently tried to find a no-moving parts anemometer that would be satisfactory for marine applications, remote locations, and where icing occurs. Wind tunnel, rain, solar radiation, and rime ice formation tests were made for equipment accuracy and survival. No single anemometer completely met the desired specifications, although improvements over earlier designs were noted in units that were analyzed.
