Sequencing of methylated cytokines in specific regulatory regions of MafA and Pdx1 genes

The data are sequences of the MafA gene in the 5ʹ flanking region between nucleotides -8118 and -7750 relative to the transcription start site, and of the proximal promoter of the Pdx1 gene, between -275 and +1,to know its cytosines methylation status. Genomic DNA was treated with sodium bisulfite, amplified by PCR and subcloned into pGEM as a vector. The DNA of interest was then extracted from the plasmid and sequenced. The genes analyzed are from DNA obtained from the pancreatic islets of rat pups from mothers fed a control diet and a 50 % protein-restricted diet.
