Dataset for a published reserach article titled "Node Distortions as a Means of Defect Engineering in Zr-based MOFs". The dataset includes powder X-ray diffraction patterns, total sattering data, pair-distribution functions, X-ray absorption spectra, thermogravimetric analysis profiles, and structure files in xyz format. Total scattering and powder x-ray diffraction data were collected at the BM31 beamline under proposal numbers A31-1-205 and A31-1-271 at the Swiss-Norwegian beamlines (SNBL) at the European Synchrotron Research Facility (ESRF). The BM31 setup was funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (grant 206021_189629) and the Research Council of Norway (grant 296087). X-ray absorption near-edge spectra were collected at the 7-BM (QAS) beamline under proposal number GU-316364 at the National Synchrotron Light Source II, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science User Facility operated for the DOE Office of Science by Brookhaven National Laboratory under Contract No. DE-SC0012704.
