The in-situ experiment took place in Grootpan Bay, St. John, US Virgin Islands between August 3rd to September 9th, 2019.

本数据集记录了不同附生草皮藻类（turf algae）覆盖度梯度下实验定植板上的珊瑚虫附着定植情况与珊瑚虫个体计数，覆盖度梯度分为三个水平：低覆盖度组（"擦洗组"）、中覆盖度组（"礁岩组"）、高覆盖度组（"防护组"），观测周期覆盖定植后长达57天的全过程。本次原位实验（in-situ experiment）于2019年8月3日至9月9日期间，在美属维尔京群岛圣约翰岛的格罗特潘湾开展。
