976 Remarkable coastal space

Ordinance No 2005-868 of 28 July 2005 on the updating and adaptation of urban planning law in Mayotte contains provisions for the protection of the coastline, inspired by the coastal law in force in metropolitan France and in the overseas departments. This order applies from 1 January 2006.

Law enforcement is therefore an essential issue for a balanced development of Mayotte. This legislation introduces graduated protection as we approach the shoreline. Several enforcement difficulties have been identified: delimitation of a coastal strip, identification of areas near the shoreline, identification of remarkable spaces and habitats necessary to maintain biological balances.

In order to delimit these different areas, the State set up a coastal atlas carried out in 2007-2008 by the consortium of ESPACES/TEMA Study Offices using the DGUHC method.

2005年7月28日发布的第2005-868号法令，针对马约特地区城市规划法的修订与适配作出规定，其包含海岸线保护条款，设计灵感源自法国本土及海外省现行的海岸法。本法令自2006年1月1日起施行。
因此，执法工作是马约特实现平衡发展的核心议题。该立法确立了临近海岸线时的分级保护机制。目前已明确若干执法难点：海岸带的划定、近岸区域的识别，以及维持生态平衡所需的特殊空间与栖息地的认定。
为划定上述各类区域，法国国家启动了海岸地图集编制项目，该图集于2007至2008年间由ESPACES/TEMA咨询事务所联合体采用DGUHC方法完成编制。
