Dataset: Psychological and experiential correlates of structured voluntary apnea: a crossover pilot study

Raw data supporting: Giuliano G. et al., "Psychological and experiential correlates of structured voluntary apnea: a crossover pilot study." Twenty healthy adults (ten experienced breath-holders, ten apnea-naïve controls) completed a single laboratory session with paced preparatory breathing and two self-paced voluntary apneas (dry vs. cold-water facial immersion) in counterbalanced order.Dispositional, pre/post-session state, and post-session experiential and phenomenological measures were collected. The dataset (Dataset.tsv) contains one row per participant and 110 variables; Datasetapnea_codebook.tsv documents each variable, its timepoint, and its source instrument; README.txt describes file conventions and missing-data handling. Study approved by the Ethics Committee of the University of Pisa (protocol no. 69/2024).
