Global Glaciology Mass Balance of Small Glaciers (GGGMBAL)

Global Glaciology: Mass Balance of Small Glaciers (GGGMBAL) is a data set containing all available time series of annual mass balance measurements for the small glaciers of the world (Cogley and Adams 1998; Cogley 2003; Cogley 2005). (Small glaciers are all glaciers other than the large ice sheets of Antarctica and Greenland.)

GGGMBAL includes measurements from about eighty glaciers in addition to those studied by Cogley and Adams (1998). The data set consists of four files:

(1) A README file;

(2) GGGMBAL.DAT: Mass-balance time series, and basic physiographic information, for over 300 glaciers (plain ASCII text);

(3) GGGSOUR.PDF: A PDF file containing references to the data sources used in compiling GGGMBAL.DAT (the references are linked to the glacier records by citation numbers); and

(4) GGGMBRD.FOR: A set of Fortran subroutines that read records from GGGMBAL.DAT (includes extensive comments explaining the format of the data).

全球冰川学：小型冰川物质平衡（Global Glaciology: Mass Balance of Small Glaciers，缩写GGGMBAL）是一套收录全球小型冰川（即除南极与格陵兰大型冰盖之外的所有冰川）年度物质平衡（mass balance）时间序列实测数据的数据集（引用来源：Cogley和Adams 1998；Cogley 2003；Cogley 2005）。

GGGMBAL 除纳入Cogley与Adams（1998）所研究的冰川数据外，还补充了约80条冰川的实测数据。本数据集包含四个文件：
(1) README说明文件；
(2) GGGMBAL.DAT：涵盖300余条冰川的物质平衡时间序列与基础地貌属性信息的纯ASCII文本文件；
(3) GGGSOUR.PDF：一份PDF文档，收录了编译GGGMBAL.DAT所用的数据源参考文献，参考文献通过引用编号与对应冰川记录关联；
