This study investigates the potential of green-synthesized silver nanoparticles using Ficus deltoidea leaf extract (FD-AgNPs) as a novel anti-cervical cancer agent. Cervical cancer progression is closely linked to dysregulated apoptosis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), both of which contribute to tumor growth and metastasis. FD-AgNPs, synthesized through a plant-based eco-friendly approach, demonstrated significant pro-apoptotic activity and EMT inhibition in HeLa cervical cancer cells. The bioactive phytochemicals in Ficus deltoidea serve as natural reducing and capping agents, enhancing the biocompatibility and therapeutic potential of the nanoparticles. This dual mechanism, inducing cancer cell death and reducing metastatic behavior, highlights FD-AgNPs as a promising candidate for the development of safe, effective, and sustainable nanomedicine-based therapies against cervical cancer.
