资源简介:
How do pollution and drought combine to threaten our food supply? In extreme drought years, ozone pollution and dry air significantly worsen soybean losses, especially in areas prone to drought. However, irrigation can offer some protection. If emissions stay high, soybean yields could drop by 37.5% during severe droughts, compared to 17.1% if emissions are reduced. These findings highlight the urgent need to cut emissions and develop strategies to tackle ozone and drought risks, ensuring food security in a warming climate.
