AfSIS Climate Collection: Essential Climate Variable (ECV) Soil Moisture, 2014 Release

The Africa Soil Information Service (AfSIS) Climate Collection's Essential Climate Variable (ECV) Soil Moisture data set contains rasters with the following calculations: time series average, time series monthly averages, and annual averages. These Africa continent-wide rasters were created using the soil moisture data for the period 1978-2010 provided by the European Space Agency (ESA) Soil Moisture Climate Change Initiative (CCI) project. The rasters have a daily temporal resolution, a spatial resolution of 30 kilometers, and are updated by AfSIS when observations are available and provided by ESA at http://www.esa-soilmoisture-cci.org. The data are available in Geographic Tagged Image File Format (GeoTIFF) from the Africa Soil Information Service (AfSIS).
