Molecular characterization of aggressive malignant retroperitoneal solitary fibrous tumor: a case study. Homo sapiens

We performed target DNA sequencing using a comprehensive cancer panel for the primary differentiated tumor, primary dedifferentiated tumor, and lung/liver metastases. The gene mutations in TP53, FLT3, and AR were found in dedifferentiated tumors while the TP53 mutation (c.97del; p.Ser33fs) was especially found in all dedifferentiated tumors. The present study supports the idea that TP53 mutations promote malignancy in SFTs.
