Enhancing Biodiversity of the Big Scrub - Stage 3

The Green Army Team will work with the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Lismore and Ballina Shire Council, Landcare, Rous Water and community to improve the condition, extent and connectivity of lowland rainforest in Big Scrub remnants. Rainforest restoration is a long term process. Activities include systematic control of weeds in previously unmanaged vegetation and essential follow-up control and revegetation. Weeds include Lantana and Madeira Vine (Weeds of National Significance). Activities will enhance connectivity, habitat of threatened species and the resilience of Lowland Rainforest of Subtropical Australia (LRSA) to climate change and other threats. Teams will participate in Big Scrub Rainforest Landcare Field days.

绿军团队（Green Army Team）将与国家公园与野生动物服务处（National Parks and Wildlife Service）、利斯莫尔（Lismore）、巴利纳郡议会（Ballina Shire Council）、土地关爱组织（Landcare）、鲁斯水务局（Rous Water）及社区展开合作，以改善大灌木（Big Scrub）残存区域内低地雨林的健康状况、覆盖范围与连通性。雨林修复是一项长期工作，具体活动包括对此前未管护的植被开展系统性杂草防控，以及必要的后续防控与植被重建。涉及的杂草包括马缨丹（Lantana）与马德拉藤（Madeira Vine，均为国家重点有害杂草（Weeds of National Significance））。上述活动将提升澳大利亚亚热带低地雨林（Lowland Rainforest of Subtropical Australia, LRSA）的连通性、濒危物种栖息地质量，以及其应对气候变化与其他威胁的韧性。团队成员将参与大灌木雨林土地关爱野外活动日（Big Scrub Rainforest Landcare Field days）。
