The effects of BRCA2(pT1942Kfs/+) mutation on the testicles of Jcl:SD rats

BRCA2 is a tumor suppressor gene associated with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome. It is known to be involved not only in somatic cell DNA repair but also in germ cell meiosis. In this study, to evaluate the impact of genetic mutations in exon 11 of BRCA2, which are common in clinical cases of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome, on male reproductive capacity, we utilized Brca2(p.T1942fs/+) Jcl:SD rats to examine their reproductive capacity and changes in testes and sperm induced by aging.
