<h3>Environmental Data Stream (CTD Plus)<br />
A Component of the BIOMAPERII Data Acquisition System</h3>

<p>These data are from the Environmental Sensing System (ESS) a component of the <u>BIO </u>-Optical <u>M</u>ulti-frequency <u>A</u>coustical and <u>P</u>hysical <u>E</u>nvironmental <u>R</u>ecorder (BIOMAPER II)¹ data acquisition system.</p>

<p>BIOMAPERII is a towed package consisting of a number of independent observational components: a multi-frequency sonar (Acoustics) system, a video plankton recorder (VPR) system, and an environmental sensor system (ESS). The incoming ESS environmental data is split into two data streams, one to be merged with the VPR data and one to be merged with the acoustics data. The reason being that there are times when either the Acoustic or VPR system may be turned off. Thus, there is a independent ESS data set to support either the Acoustic or VPR data streams.</p>

<p>The ESS data reported here are in support of the Acoustics data stream. See the data object \"sv120data\", 120 kHz acoustic backscatter data set.</p>

<h3>环境数据流（CTD Plus）<br />BIOMAPERII数据采集系统组件</h3>
<p>本数据集源自环境传感系统（Environmental Sensing System，ESS），该系统是<u>生物光学多频声学与物理环境记录仪（BIOMAPER II）</u>数据采集系统的组成部分¹。</p>
<p>BIOMAPERII为拖曳式集成平台，包含多个独立观测组件：多频声呐（声学）系统、视频浮游生物记录仪（VPR）系统及环境传感系统（ESS）。传入的ESS环境数据会被拆分为两条数据流：一条与VPR数据合并，另一条与声学数据合并。原因在于，声学系统或VPR系统有时会被关停，因此需设置独立的ESS数据集，分别适配声学或VPR数据流。</p>
<p>本次发布的ESS数据用于支持声学数据流。请参考数据对象"sv120data"，即120 kHz声学背散射数据集。</p>
