Research Data Management: An investigation from the perspective of Biodiversity, in the context of Open Science

It addresses research data management in the field of biodiversity within the Open Science movement. The research is conducted in the Doctoral Program in Information Science at the Federal University of Paraíba and aims to analyze the perceptions of faculty/researchers regarding Research Data Management in Postgraduate Biodiversity Programs at public universities in Brazil. The specific objectives include identifying the understanding of faculty/researchers about the stages of the Data Lifecycle, evaluating the understanding of faculty/researchers about the stages of the Data Lifecycle, and mapping the understanding of faculty/researchers about the stages of the Data Lifecycle. This study is justified by the need to understand the aspects of data management in the context of biodiversity, given the increasing demand for open science that promotes transparency, accessibility, and reproducibility of data. The research is applied and exploratory, aiming to investigate the practices of biodiversity faculty/researchers in Brazil. Questionnaires were administered to collect data on the perceptions and practices of these faculty/researchers regarding the sharing and reuse of research data. Research data management for Open Science promotes transparency, reuse, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In the context of biodiversity, the work explores the challenges and strategies to effectively organize, analyze, and share data. Therefore, it involves practices for organizing, storing, and reusing data. It also discusses the intersection between data management, biodiversity, and open science. The research intends to contribute to the understanding and improvement of data management practices in the field of biodiversity in Brazil, promoting discussions on more effective and collaborative strategies for the advancement of science.
