Additional file 11. Master regulator molecules of genes upregulated in GE1-hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Significantly up regulated genes in GE1-HCC (n=10) versus NT (n=17) samples with mean fold change (FC) ≥ 2 and P ≤ 0.01 were identified (Additional file 4) and used as an input gene list for bioinformatics analyses. Master regulator molecules in the signal transduction pathways, at a distance of up to 10 steps upstream of the dysregulated genes, were identified using the curated database of pathways and protein interactions TRANSPATH®.
