Immunoproliferative small intestinal disease associated with Campylobacter coli. Campylobacter coli IPSID-1

Immunoproliferative small intestinal disease (IPSID) is a variant of B-cell mucosa-associated lymphoid-tissue (MALT) lymphoma of the small intestine characterized by the synthesis of a monotypic, truncated immunoglobulin alpha heavy chain lacking an associated light chain. IPSID has been associated with Campylobacter. We report a new case of IPSID, the first from which the agent was cultured. Phenotypic analysis, PCR and whole genome sequencing identified Campylobacter coli. This further supports a causative role for Campylobacter in IPSID.
