Evaluation of grain and graze traits in cowpea genotypes- Pasmita Neupane

The rain-fed agricultural system in Queensland faces substantial production losses due to annual droughts and heat stress. Additionally, there is an inadequate supply of fodder/forage to meet livestock demands during dry periods. In response, Central Queensland University and AgriVentis Technologies Pty Ltd have partnered to explore dual-purpose traits in various tropical pulses. My research is part of this collaboration, focusing on evaluating grain and graze traits in cowpea genotypes through raised bed trials conducted across three seasons. Protein, antioxidant, fibre and gross energy were analysed in the CQIRP labs.
