The Dionysian Parade

The Dionysia was a large festival in ancient Athens in honor of the god Dionysus, the central events of which were the theatrical performances of dramatic tragedies and, from 487 BC, comedies. It was the second-most important festival after the Panathenaia. The Dionysia actually consisted of two related festivals, the Rural Dionysia and the City Dionysia, which took place in different parts of the year. They were also an essential part of the Dionysian Mysteries.狄俄尼索斯节（Dionysia）是古希腊雅典规模盛大的节庆活动，用以敬奉神祇狄俄尼索斯，其核心环节为戏剧悲剧的舞台演出，自公元前487年起增设喜剧展演。该节庆是仅次于泛雅典娜节（Panathenaia）的第二大重要节庆。狄俄尼索斯节实则由两个相关联的子节庆构成：乡村狄俄尼索斯节与城市狄俄尼索斯节，二者分别于一年中的不同时段举办，且均为狄俄尼索斯秘仪（Dionysian Mysteries）的核心组成部分。
