Bacillus cereus BSF-CH1 was isolated from Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) pupae shell piles, exhibiting high chitinolytic activity and efficient degradation capability of pupae shells. The complete genome was sequenced using PacBio HiFi technology. The genome consists of one circular chromosome (5,255 kb) and two plasmids (274 kb and 67 kb), with a total size of 5,596 kb and a G+C content of 35.2%. Genome annotation revealed 5,582 protein-coding genes, including multiple genes involved in chitin degradation pathway (3 chitinase genes, 7 chitin deacetylase genes, and 4 chitosanase genes). This strain has potential applications in the biotransformation of chitin-rich waste materials from insect farming.
