Instrumented Nine Hole Peg Test data
These directories contain subject data from 9 subjects who performed 4 tests:- conventional nine hole peg test without motion capture sensors- conventional nine hole peg test with motion capture sensors- instrumented nine hole peg test without motion capture sensors- instrumented nine hole peg test with motion capture sensors
The conventional nine hole peg test (NHPT) was the Smith & Nephew Roylan versionThe instrumented version was prepared in the our lab, full details are here:https://github.com/JasonFriedman/InstrumentedNineHolePegTest
and in an upcoming paper
The data was recorded in Matlab using the RepeatedMeasures software:https://github.com/JasonFriedman/RepeatedMeasures
Each condition was performed 3 times.
Data is only provided when available (e.g. when the motion capture was not used, no motion capturedata is presented). When the conventional test was used, no data on the holes is provided.
**For the instrumented nine hole peg test (file that start with so_), there are 22 numbers on each line
The first 18 numbers are for the 9 holes (top then bottom sensors), the holesgo from left to right, up to down:1 2 34 5 67 8 9
The number will become high when the peg is placed in the hole
The next 3 numbers are for the container, the number will change when the fingers arein the container
The values are the voltage read from the analog inputs using Arduino (1023 = 5V).
The last number is a time stamp (in seconds)
**For the motion capture data (file that start with ts_), recorded using a Ascension trakStar system, sensors were placed on:1. Thumb finger nail2. Index finger nail3. Middle finger nail4. Ring finger nail5. Back of the palm6. Forearm, in line with the radius7. Upper arm8. Near the shoulder, or anterior scapula
The files with shoulder, elbow and wrist involve the appropriate movement (designed to allow findingthe joint centers).
Each file has 65 columns, 8 for each sensor, and the last one is to mark events (not relevant forthis study).
For each sensor, the 8 columns are:1. x (positive x is backward)2. y (positive y is left)3. z (positive z is down)4. azimuth (rotation about z)5. elevation (rotation about y)6. roll (rotation about x)Positions are in mm, angles are in degrees, with ZYX Euler angles
Column 7 is quality, 8 is the time stamp (in seconds)
-----Jason FriedmanOctober 2019jason@tau.ac.ilwww.movementscienceslab.comwww.curiousjason.com
