Whole-genome sequencing of Hynobius notialis

This project reports whole-genome sequencing of the salamander Hynobius notialis (Amphibia: Hynobiidae) using Illumina paired-end sequencing. The primary aim of this study was to develop polymorphic microsatellite markers for population genetic analyses. The sequencing reads were also used for assembly of the complete mitochondrial genome, contributing to phylogenetic and comparative genomic research of hynobiid salamanders.
