維基百科主要是由来自互联网上的志願者共同合作編寫而成,任何使用网络進入維基百科的用户都可以編寫和修改裡面的文章,但是在一些情况下為了避免擾亂或者破壞可能會限制編輯功能。我們可以自由選擇使用匿名、化名或者直接用真實身份來編輯維基百科。與傳統的百科全書相比,在互联网上運作的維基百科其文字和絕大部分圖片使用創用CC 姓名標示-相同方式分享 3.0協議和GNU自由文件授權條款來提供每個人自由且免費的資訊,任何人都可以成為條目的作者,以及在遵守协议并標示來源後直接複製、使用以及发布這些內容。

Wikipedia (pronounced /ˌwɪkᵻˈpiːdi.ə/ or /ˌwɪkiˈpiːdi.ə/) is a free-content, openly editable, multilingual web-based collaborative encyclopedia project. Powered by Wiki technology, it enables any user—including yourself—to easily modify its content via a web browser. The name "Wikipedia" is a portmanteau coined from its core technology "Wiki" and the word "encyclopedia". Currently, Wikipedia is operated by the Wikimedia Foundation.
Wikipedia is primarily collaboratively developed by volunteers from around the world. Any user with access to the Wikipedia website can write and edit its articles, though editing functions may be restricted in certain scenarios to avoid disruption or vandalism. Editors may freely choose to edit anonymously, under a pseudonym, or using their real identities.
Unlike traditional encyclopedias, the online Wikipedia offers free and unrestricted information to everyone through the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License and the GNU Free Documentation License for its text and most images. Any individual can become an author of an article, and may directly copy, use, and distribute the content upon complying with the license terms and properly attributing the source.
