Analysis of gut microbiota in Sows Supplemented with Gallnut tannic acid during Early Pregnancy

Gallnut, an important Chinese herbal medicine, has been known to promote the growth and development of livestock by regulating their intestinal health. Several studies demonstrated that Gallnut TA (GTA) supplementation significantly reduced the diarrhea rate and diarrhea index without altering growth performance, and improved intestinal integrity and morphology, while simultaneously regulating the composition of gut microbiota in weaned piglets.However, the effects of GTA on reproductive performance of sows is not well understood.
