This is the data set for the paper [Kun Wang, Kurt Engelbrecht, Christian R.H. Bahl and Rasmus Bjørk, A 3D-printed full-soft regenerative elastocaloric cooler, Energy Conversion and Management, 336, 119811, 2025]. The DOI for the publication is 10.1016/j.enconman.2025.119811.These data are located on the repository at data.dtu.dk, with DOI:10.11583/DTU.26954062 and URL: https://doi.org/10.11583/DTU.26954062 .The data repository contains three folders that correspond to the different experiments/simulations described in the article."AER experimental results" contains the experimental results of the active elastocaloric regenerator (AER) described in the article.The subfolder "Mechanical behavior" contains the mechanical experiments and contains three subfolders for the three different regenerators described in the article. Each of these subfolders contains a few text files named after the experiment performed, typically number of cycles etc. The text files contains strain, standard force, cycle number and test time in column format.The subfolder "Temperature profiles" contains the measured temperature profiles for the three tested regenerators in three subfolders. Each of these contains MATLAB files that contains the temperature as function of time for the eight different thermocouples in the experiment."Volume change simulation" contains the simulation results of the volume change of the three different regenerators, named according to the regenerator names. The final data files are the exported 3D coordinates of the fluidic channel nodes in FEM simulations, in which the column refers to locX, locY, locZ, dispX, dispY, dispZ, forceX, forceY, forceZ, from the left to right."Material characterization" contains two subfolders. One contains mechanical behavior results with files with an identically structured content to the similarly named subfolder "Mechanical behavior" described above. The other contains IR images of selected regenerators under 500-700% strain experiments. The .asc files in each subfolder refer to the temperature-time profiles obtained from IR camera measurements, which characterize the adiabatic change of 3D-printed elastomers.
