We investigated the effects of mTOR and ATF4 on gene expression in human lung fibroblasts using RNA-sequencing. We found both ATF4 and mTOR regulate expression of genes that are involved in controlling amino acid synthesis and transportation. mTOR additionally regulates genes that are involved in glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation. Comparative gene expression profiling analysis of RNA-seq data from Normal Human Lung Fibroblasts (HLFs) under TGF-beta treatment. ATF4 was inhibited by siRNA knock down, and mTOR was inhibited with Torin1 treatment.
