Photographs of aggregates in the mesocosm COASTal water amended with COASTal microbial concentrate

Mesocosm experiments were performed with seawater collected from the Northern Gulf of Mexico (NGOM) and “seeded” with microbial populations collected from Galveston Bay, TX. Four treatments were set up in triplicate Control, water accommodated oil fraction or WAF (~0.02% oil:seawater), water accommodated oil fraction with Corexit 9500 or CEWAF (20:1 oil:Corexit), and a 10-fold diluted equivalent of WAF, called DCEWAF. 本研究开展中宇宙（Mesocosm）实验，实验用水采自墨西哥湾北部（Northern Gulf of Mexico，NGOM），并接种了采自美国得克萨斯州加尔维斯顿湾的微生物群落。实验共设置四组处理，每组均设置三次生物学重复：对照组（Control）、水容油组分（water accommodated oil fraction，WAF，油与海水比例约0.02%）、添加科塞特9500（Corexit 9500）的水容油组分（CEWAF，油与科塞特质量比为20:1），以及经10倍稀释的WAF等效体系，命名为DCEWAF。附含聚集体的天然有机质（natural organic matter，NOM）示意图。
