THE EFFICACY OF USING REALIA IN ESP INSTRUCTION FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

This paper discusses the significance of incorporating authentic materials into English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes within the context of vocational education. "Realia" refers to real-world objects utilized as instructional tools to bridge the gap between theoretical language and practical application. By introducing technical artifacts, the classroom is transformed into a simulated workplace. This study focuses on how such materials enhance technical vocabulary acquisition for agricultural machinery students. Furthermore, it explores the impact of conducting lessons in engineering workshops to introduce large-scale, stationary equipment—a form of "on-site" realia that fosters immersive learning.本文探讨了职业教育背景下，将真实教学材料融入专门用途英语（English for Specific Purposes, ESP）课堂的重要意义。真实实物教具（Realia）指被用作教学工具的现实世界物品，旨在弥合理论语言学习与实际应用之间的鸿沟。通过引入技术类实物教具，课堂可被打造为模拟工作场所。本研究聚焦于此类教具如何助力农业机械专业学生提升专业词汇的习得效果。此外，本研究还探讨了在工程车间开展授课、引入大型固定式设备——即一类可促进沉浸式学习的"现场"真实实物教具——的教学影响。
