Ringing the bell in Xentu, South Africa East, 1933-12-11

"Xentu. ’Mit dem Klöppel in der Hand’ läutet man auch schön" ("Xentu. 'With the clapper in the hand' one can ring well"). A man standing next to a bell which is fixed at a fence. With his left hand he is holding the construction of the bell. With his right hand he is striking the bell with a little stick or clapper. He is wearing a light coloured trouser, a dark jacket and a hat.; Paul Albert Theile, born in 1908 in Niesky (Germany), was a theologian and preacher. He was no missionary in Africa, but went on an educational journey to East Africa in 1933 and to South Africa in 1934. He was a mission deputy in Montmirail (France) from 1934 till 1938. In 1948 he married Susette Schmidt. After 1962 he was director of the Moravian Church in Switzerland. He died in 1995 in Birsfelden (near Basel / Switzerland).

保罗·阿尔贝特·泰尔（Paul Albert Theile）于1908年生于德国尼斯基，是神学家与布道者。他并非赴非传教士，而是于1933年前往东非、1934年赴南非开展教育考察。1934年至1938年间，他于法国蒙米赖担任传教副代表。1948年，他与苏塞特·施密特成婚。1962年之后，他出任瑞士摩拉维亚教会总监。1995年，他于瑞士巴塞尔附近的比尔斯费尔登逝世。
