Protect the Reef by Improved Water Quality in the Southern Wet Tropics #3

This project will form part of a coordinated Green Army contribution to addressing key threatening processes to the Great Barrier Reef. It will do this by taking a whole of catchment / basin approach to protect and enhance those including wetlands, riparian areas and coastal zones that have a water quality protection function and an intrinsic value in their own right. The project will support multiple local community activities that align with the Reef Recovery Action Plans currently being developed by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the NRM Plan for the region, and the Water Quality Improvement Plan for the Region.

本项目将作为协同开展的绿色军团（Green Army）行动的组成部分，助力应对大堡礁（Great Barrier Reef）面临的各类关键威胁因素。本项目将采用全流域/全盆地综合治理路径，对兼具水质保护功能与自身固有内在价值的湿地、河岸带区域及沿海地带进行保护与优化提升。本项目将支持多项本地社区活动，这些活动契合大堡礁海洋公园管理局（Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority）目前正在制定的《珊瑚礁恢复行动计划》、本区域自然資源管理（Natural Resource Management，NRM）计划以及区域水质改善计划。
