Processed data supporting "Timing and Global Warming Levels of Emergence of Extreme Runoff Changes in CMIP6 Projections"

This dataset contains processed outputs and supporting code for the manuscript “Timing and Global Warming Levels of Emergence of Extreme Runoff Changes in CMIP6 Projections”. The archived files include Time of Emergence (ToE) and Global Warming Level of Emergence (GWLoE) products for four annual extreme runoff indices: Rx1day, Rx5day, R95p, and R99p, under SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0, and SSP5-8.5. TOE.zip contains the processed ToE products derived using 30-year moving windows relative to the 1985–2014 historical reference period. GWLoE.zip contains the corresponding GWLoE products, which convert the timing of detectable extreme runoff changes into global warming levels. TOE.py provides the supporting Python script used to calculate the ToE products from annual extreme runoff inputs. These processed products were derived from CMIP6 daily total runoff outputs, with near-surface air temperature outputs used for the global warming level analysis. Raw CMIP6 model outputs are not redistributed in this record and are publicly available from the Earth System Grid Federation.
